Two new workshops coming up in August at the Evegate School of Stitch in Ashford.
Have a look at their lovely website www.schoolofstitch.org.uk
The first workshop will be making Stitched Books and will run on Wednesday August 26th.
We will be using old copies of Vogue to make cloth books inspired by fashion. Using stitch drawing techniques and appliqued fabrics to add colour. See the example above. This will a chance to try out techniques and put them into a book format as a record of your experiments.
The second workshop will be Stitched Shirts and will run on Friday 28th August.
In this workshop we will be using stitch draw techniques to draw on white shirts. We will be using old magazines as inspiration and adding colour with appliqued printed fabrics. You can bring your own shirt or T shirt, but a white cotton shirt is a bit easier to stitch on than a jersey t shirt. You can use the shirt as kind of sketchbook and use it to try out different ideas with stitch and colour.
